Saturday: North City Market opens

We've been posting a few things about Old North St. Louis, one of St. Louis' truly emerging new neighborhoods and one that'll be featured during the Conference. (It's located, we should note, just a few minutes' bike ride north of the America's Center.)

Especially for those of you in St. Louis, you might be interested in the spring/summer farmers' market that'll be kicking off this Saturday. One of the prime organizers in ONSL sent along the info, and we'll pass it along here.

========

Join us for the Opening Day of the North City Farmers’ Market at the intersection of 14th and St. Louis Avenue . Market hours are 9-noon Saturdays June 7- October 25th. Enjoy fresh produce from New Roots Urban Farm, City Seeds, Burning Cumquats and other local farmers, fresh baked goods from Black Bear Bakery, and locally made craft items.

Special events for Opening Day will include live music featuring Eric McSpadden & Margaret Bianchetta, a cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Alderwoman April Ford-Griffin , free health screenings, a bike give-a-way, and children’s’ activities.

The North City Farmers’ Market accepts EBT cards and has distributed vouchers to local food pantries for redemption at the market.
